Hey
Sorry its taken so long to get back to you, recently moved to the country and do not have internet access.

Brittany arrived in New Zealand around a month ago on a working holiday visa, the plan of a partnership visa fell thru as it was near impossible to "prove" we were in a relationship.

Bascially she is allowed here for 12 months, but after 6 months we can get it extended to 24 months. All we need is to live together for 12 months, along with joint bank accounts and joint tenancy etc this should be enough to prove we are in a relationship to apply for residency.

Last Wednesday we had a Civil Union here and have just got back from our honey moon which was fantastic!! We are enjoying every moment together and are incredibly thankful that it is possible to be together in a county long-term.

At the moment we are looking for work, preferbably together but its not looking hopefull. We are also looking at the option of working at a camp together in America next summer. So we have lots of paperwork and visa's and working the system to look forward to.

We have had a huge amount of support and are wrapped that our documentary has been viewed by so many including alot of immigration equality websites. Its incredible how many stories we have heard from people in the same situation as us and are pleased to hear from them and recieve their support!

If enough people stand up and spread the word and their experiences change is enevitable. Thanks for putting our doco on your blog, if only one person see's it and realises they are not alone and it can be done then thats enough for me. Anything we can do let us know!

All the best

Jo & Britt Kusserow

I'm happy to know they are together. Thanks for stopping by and reminding me to check back. I somehow didn't expect an update so soon. Good news! Although, I wish they were in America....
